I enjoy reading the post i dont post very often .I wrote a letter a couple of weeks ago to the CEO of Jeep about my 2003 Grand Cherokee.I bought new and have been having much trouble for quite some time, it has only 80,000 miles, has not been driven hard. The climate control blend doors are broken, so I have had no heat for over a year, the recirculation door is broken too. Jeep wants $2000 to repair, that involves removing the entire dash to get to the broken doors. The wiring to blower resistor is bad so blower shuts off sometimes, the door locks fail to work, I have replaced all 4 window regulators. I had to put new brake rotors on at 8000 miles, factory instlled rotors were warped and front brakes complety gone by then. The engine light stays on after tune ups and engine codes says I have a vacuum leak but no one can find. There are also electrical problems, with lights and locks and signals. None of these items are on recall. So I get a phone call from someone at Jeep, and this guy of course is no help. I had already replaced the blend doors with metal blend doors from www.heatertreater.net for only $100 (a great product) and replaced the window part myself, but because I did not use genuine MOPAR parts no reimbursements for me. What was I supposed to do, drive around in a cold Jeep with rain blowing in my broken window until you called me? And I told him why would I put the same lousy plastic parts back on, this lousy Jeep, and whoever designed these parts and thought a thin piece of plastic would hold up a window, or a plastic blend door hinge which moves under great force and stress every time the jeep is started, or the AC or heat is used, is out of their mind. He said that there is a recall on the heated seat, I did not want to have that repaired as that is working, I don’t want my seat torn up and that is the only thing that was keeping my bottom warm. He said, “Well sir this is a 8 year old vehicle”. I said a vehicle should last more than 8 years by the way I have 9 vehicles, all of the others, including a 35 year old, 1977 Dodge Truck(M882) that runs like a top, has no problems, a great heater, and has it has never failed me, because they built this truck with metal, not aluminum and plastic, and even my 70year old, 1942 Dodge is way more dependable than that jeep.So I fixed the jeep heater saved $$ and I am warm while driving. I will try to repair relay wiring next week. Good info on www.wjjeeps.com If you want info on the heater treater or this CEO’s address or other guys phone number let me know. What do you guys think, should I have this many problems.
