I would suggest that not "everyone", but rather "most people" should be used in your statement. In reality, there are a lot of people, me included, and probably you, that will go out of their way to find what might be left of USA or Canadian manufactured items. I spent several hours recently looking for some ratcheting wrenches on ebay. Finally found a used set of Snap On that I bought. If I need a tool I now search until I find an old one, if possible. So you are right, "there are still a few of us", and if we can't afford new Snap On, used are still available.
That being said, it doesn't help much on clothing items, or on the whole problem in general.
Who was it, Clinton, who created this open import mess. He should have spent more time under the desk in the Oval Office with Monica, and left the economy alone. :)
