I hear you Dan, a good single is so much less work & ample for most applications at a much more affordable price.
That said, twin turbos are trouble free & they aren't a high performance modification...they make your egt's lower & make for smoother, more usable power.
Bigger injectors & tuners are what make more power.
Where guys get into BIG problems is when they plug in a 200hp chip & run a stock turbo or even a big single like a Phat Shaft & then start pulling big mountain passes without carefully monitoring EGTs.
It's pretty simple really. I mean for $500 you can buy a tuner that will blow your Cummins up....where the money gets spent in creating more reliable power is in breathing. Gauges first...then Intake, exhaust, turbo/s...tuner last.
That's the safe way!
