I lived in Hou. from 52 to 83, when I moved here, except for a 7 year stint in Austin. Don't remember the years exactly but I bought big red(65w100) in about 71 and my first introduction to the wm was when I went to River Oaks Chrysler Plymouth and saw the wms in the parts book, I was blown away and had to have one, but they were not for sale anymore and I kept asking the parts folks if they knew anyone that had any and they referred me to Mckenzie. He was retired by then but had some great stories. Basically what he did was buy the factory trucks and outfit them with the special tires etc., for the oil field whether it was in Tex. or Saudi Arabia etc., kind of a custom dealer. I finallybought my first ff a 47 wdx from the dodge dealer in La Grange, it was their wrecker. I completely rebuilt it only to have it stolen. Wish I knew then what I know now, not that it would make any diff.
