Some styles are made in China and some are made in the USA. Ask at a knowledgeable store. The US made ones hold up better. Most "American"-sounding work boots these days are made in China, and don't hold up very well.

Here in Kellogg, there is a place called Hoffman's that actually still makes the boots 100% right there at the store. I have not bought any, because they are all high-top logger's and lineman's boots but I get my Red Wing boots through them. It's sort of amazing to see people still cutting and stitching leather boot on machines that look like they're 100 years old. They have a good reputation and steady business.
