Boy I'll tell ya,
I've done a lot of looking but at all the big carriers for seat covers (canvas seat covers) I have a carryall with all the seats, Beach-wood wanted $4900 to do the seats, $770 for just the covers, New life doesn't have the patterns, Though Mona is very Enthusiastic about doing them we were unable to connect, Dave at wee-be had the best price at just shy of 3K although in fairness It was over a year ago and am aware there was an increase in canvas prices, now in this price included boards, foam, and covers, (i do not have the springs)
now although this is not an apples to apples comparison,
but for the custom boards, 8" of foam bottoms and 6" for the back with a high grade marine U/V resistant vinyl that one needs to turn over to tell it's not leather for $890 at a Local auto custom cover shop?
So I ask you WTF are they so expensive? Beach-wood was like well we need to cut the boards + foam and cover now if my math is right after the covers are deducted leaves $4130 for foam, wood, and labor, foam on the high side is $500.00 leaving equaling $3630. 2 sheets of 5/8" marine grade plywood $20.00 ea. leaving $3590. now before stirring a pot I realize that there is equipment and over head employees to pay, etc... but come on, these are not Duseinburgs,
I don't know about you but seems a little unfair to the working class, this is price would equate for almost 3 months of pay for me, i'm all about supply and demand but how about gouging or pricing your self out of the market,
With that said, these are all great vendors, I have and will do business with them again but not on this job. too rich for my blood.
