All electric pumps are not the same. I've used AC and other retailer pumps. The longest lasting pump so far is NAPA for $65 (8 years and going). It's very important you install the pump according to instructions. The older the pump gets, the less pressure it produces. I've been very satisfied with NAPA's pump, and will buy another. If you are not sure the tank is clean, install a glass filter between it and the pump, then monitor for rust/dirt indicating the tank will need cleaning. Vapor lock is normally caused by low pressure/heat.
