I had a 95 and have a 2001 now. The 95 did the same. The shop diagnosed it over the phone. There was a fuel line that went by the exhaust/turbo/waste gate somewhere. It was rubber and exposed to heat. They had issues with that line developing a small air leak (failing from heat). The leak is so small that fuel will not leak from it. The small leak and the slope of the garage floor would promote a situation allowing the fuel flow back to the tank and allowing a slug of air in the line. More or less breaks the vacum. Mine got worse as time passed. It was worse the greater the up hill slope I parked on. Eventually the primer pump would not help me anymore. My 2001 is starting to act the same. I have run a rubber fuel line from the FASS transfer pump forward years ago. It is a good line that came with the kit. It may be time to replace the line and make the fuel connections fresh/tight again.

I think you have a small air leak in a forward fuel line. Does he notice it is worse on uphill parking? 4" garage slope effected mine!
