I agree with Will on the keeping the Budd pattern, however what you want to do shouldn't be to terribly hard. Bruce in FL was able to modify dana 60 spindles to fit on the PW knuckle. I don't remember if he just had to redrill the bolt holes or if he had to machine face at all, also not sure if he used ford or dodge/chevy spindles. He did it to fit 1.5" axle shafts and then he found a bearing to retain the PW hubs. Once you have the dana 60 spindle you could just use dana 60 hubs. The dodge dana 60 I have I think uses bolt on caliper brackets so if you redrilled the PW knuckle to match the dana 60 spindle I think the dana 60 brakes would be bolt on. I have a dana 60 in pieces I will try and remeber this weekend to see what would need to be modified.

I am going to a dana 60/70 in my m37 this winter hopefully, but I think it would be pretty cool to buy the Reid or Crane dana 60 C's and use dana 60 outers on the pw axle with open knuckles. Then ARB can get you 1.5" side gears for the PW air locker and you could run nice strong 1.5" cromoly axles. Several companies make inner axle seals for the 9" ford axle for front conversions that I bet could be made to work with the PW axle. I personally would then use dually dana hubs and see if they can be redrilled to the Budd bolt pattern to keep the PW axle look with modern strength. I am almost sure at this point the stock course spline pinion is the weak point, but it doesn't sound like you are looking for more strength than stock. Open knuckles are kind of nice for trail repairs though.
