Remember when NASA had the motto "Faster, Better, Cheaper"? I think it was about 20 years ago. They had gotten their budget cut but claimed they could do just as good a job as before, but cheaper. After a couple of high-profile failures, they dropped that motto. We engineers had a variation on that motto: "Faster, Better, Cheaper. Pick any two."
