Last summer I picked up a B-1 off E-bay.It was apparent it had not run in several years, the seller advised the motor was free but that he couldn't get it to fire. This did not initimidate me,I have resurrected many sitters, and have learned one thing...all engines inherently want to run.I brought her home, cleaned the carb, scrapped the 6 volt electrical components, put 12 volt coil, condensor, ballast resistor and delco alternator to her and she fired and ran like it had sat overnight.Rebuilt the model 61 heater with a 12v blower, and that works great now too.Would put it on the road, but her frame is shot. She is also fitted with a Fisher plow, all working fine.Got to plow the driveway with it this morning, and it worked great, power wagons are the ultimate plow rigs.It amazes me how easy it was to bring this beast back into service.I would like to post a pic,but can't figure out how to on this site.Eventually this 49 will be a parts machine to my '50 which is undergoing a frame off resto and will need many things the 49 has to offer, but for now it feeds my appetite to drive a running PW,if only around the yard!
