perry, I don't think you can convert them. What type of cable control do you have? Is it the old T handle that you twist for angle and push forward and back for lift and raise. What kind of problems are you having with it? They can be a bit tricky to get set up right but they are solid and reliable. Let me know or email me and I might be able to help you out
