I don't know what rig you might be wanting to use it in but everything I see seems to say that auto trans fluid has changed over the years so it is not so great to use in newer diesels. Way back that used to work really well and may in some rigs but I will NOT do that to my VP44 pumped Cummins as it is lubed by the diesel fuel. Many use what Paul mentioned but I use 2 stroke oil in mine to help lube the IP. A byproduct of using it has been a noticeable increase in fuel mileage along with a much quieter engine. Not like a 3rd Gen but definitely quieted the rattle down.
