I have a 10K lift on a 4 " slab no problems. I did not build the shop or I would have made provisions for something different. Most you will need is a 18" X 18" square deepened area where the lift posts will be mounted. No more the 6"-8" overall finished thickness is required with 4 pieces of #4 rebar forming a mat in each direction. A 4 post lift will work fine on a 4" slab. I always pour a minimum 2500+ psi concrete. Very little increase in per yard cost and will typically cure out at over 4000 psi at 28 days. I agree about wall height. My walls are 10 ft. I bought the house with the shop that way, 12-14' is better. However with a pole barn, you typically have 12' spacing on the posts which translates to the same truss spacing. My W300 squeezes right up between the trusses.

Good luck, a lot of good advice here.
