As I wrote earlier, the shaft for the spare distributor was bent. I removed the cap snaps from the body, then punched out the lock pin in the shaft. Light taps to the oil pump interlock flange removed the guts of the dist and I separated what I needed from what I didn't. I then cleaned the off varnish and polished the shaft (don't go there!). Built what I needed and Installed a new roll pin to lock it all together. Insertion into the block was quick and smooth (I said, don't go there!) Tomorrow I'll double check the basic timing, prime the carb and pray as I press the starter.
