Partly out of curiosity and partly to salvage any usable parts, I'm tearing apart that blown engine. Having never disassembled a 230 before, I have a few questions.

How does the crankshaft pulley hub come off so as to be able to get the timing cover off? I have the pulley itself off and the big nut out of it, but nothing else wants to come apart.

How do you get the clutch apart when the crank is locked and you can't turn the flywheel, even with a crowbar in the ring gear, in order to get the clutch cover bolts to where you can put a wrench on them?

Are two of the oil pan bolts near the left front side suppose to be in such a tight spot that you can't get a socket over them, or did the thrown rod bend the oil pan out over the bolt heads? If the former, I'll just grind off the bolt heads and leave the stubs in the junk block and save the pan. If the latter, I'll cut the pan off around those bolts.

Lots of things fell and rattled inside when I turned the motor on its side, and when I pulled the fuel pump out, its lever arm was broken off. I expect it's going to be ugly in there.
