I guess I killed a lot of electrons saying what you said with a few numbers.
As to the final torque, I took my cue from
several different shop manuals, not the least of which is the B-1 Series shop manual,
and the mechanic who taught me.
Even the guys at VPW can't decide which way is better. To each their own...
