Well, I spent most of the day yesterday repairing the area of my cab that sits on the insulators. I brazed a 1/4TX4W plate of steel the full lenth (from outside towards inside of cab) on both sides of cab with the 11/16th hole for insulators and bolts, parrellel to the frame insulator mount. Had to do some brazing inside the cab also. I found a 2inch thick rubber slab for $20 that I will make 4 new cab insulators from.

Next step will be to squeeze silicone seal into any cracks between plate and cab, then apply undercoating all around.

There is a square hole in the cab in front, each side that let water and mud into your cab. This caused a lot of rust in mine and probably resulted in my problem. You want to look for those and plug them off. If your cab has them, pull the inside cab kick panels off and clean out any dirt, heat the area to dry out any moisture and paint with a rust inhibitor paint. Also check under your cab for cracks. After welding while the metal was still fairly hot, I applied rustoleum rusty metal primer (my favorite) to prevent moisture from returning the metal. I think now the cab will out last me and I should be able to drive without any more problems.

If you go up "Rocky Hill" road outside of Exeter CA, watch your speed. The old PW pulled the grade in fourth all the way, but the wife, the dog and me and truck did the "Bronco Billy Thing" going up. How I noticed something was not right with the truck, the tranny sounded like it had a fracture crack, you could hear every turn of the bearings and gears. When I shifted, there was this big "Klunk". I will try and get some pictures to post later of the repair work.
