It seems that my thrust shoe adjusting nut has been spot welded to the differential carrier, maybe that is why mine eventually fell out and ended up in the bottom of the carrier. I've seen others welded like this too. Is this common? Sounds like I better free that nut up and install that thrust pad since I'm doing some pretty heavy duty pulling in low/low with my truck.
