wiring Question

I just got a '50 B1PW that was repowerwd with a motor from a WWII radio command car. It has the 55 Amp 12 volt system. I need to run new wire as the old stuff is pretty bad. My question is, was the radio command car equipped with a negative or positive ground system? If positive how do I change to negative? Is it just a matter of re-polarizing the system, an if so how is it done? Thanks!
