I guess you have figured out by now that California does not want to see any 1973 - 1990 vehicles on the road. Time to raise the white flag, and sell this truck to someone from a friendlier state. If you elect to persue this, I fear that you will be spending all your time and money trying to beat the odds. They have continually tightened the standards until anything less than absoulute perfection will fail. Unless you are willing to put a solar powered electrical motor in this rig, get it out of California. Use the money to buy a pre 1970 rig and enjoy! There are autions local in Southern California that sell non-smog compliant vehicles and there is always ebay.
