Restoration work is work by the hour get paid by the hour.

Insurance repair work is usually a set amount of hours paid to do the repair. Its a wam bam in and out get paid type of work and the faster the body guy is the more he can get paid. Its why if your restored classic vehicle ever gets into a wreck and it gonna go into the shop for repair you got to be careful that the shop isnt gonna slap some bondo on it and spot paint it and get it out as just another insurance repair.
