Sears had a huge recall, they would give you $100 to scrap it.
Radial arm saws are only good for framing accuracy, and are terrible crappy stinky horrible pieces of crap for anything else.
I think Sears did a terrible dis-service to the wood working field by pushing them as a hobbiest's first saw, instead of a table saw.
They are inherently unsafe, because the blade is trying to climb right into the wood. That puts it into attack mode. DON'T EVER RUN IT WITH YOUR ARMS CROSSED or you will take off body parts. Other power tools, you have to stick you appendages into the blade. Radial arm saws, with a moving blade, will come and get you.
