All 1940 to 1953 Dodge 1 ton trucks came standard with the 4.30 ratio R&P. In 1946, the third member was strenghtned with the addition of two more pinion gears and 7/16" diam. mounting studs in place of the 3/8" diam studs. The optional ratio's for these trucks were 3.91(very rare) and the 4.89 ratio. In 1954, the 4.30 ratio was dropped as standard in favor of the 4.10 ratio.
