I met a guy at a car show recently with a restored 69 D300 and it used the extended utiline fender. what he told me is that it was an aftermarket kit that included the fender extensions, the triangle pieces for the running board, and a really hoakey looonong stud and spacer set up to convert to dual tires using single type rims. you can't just put dually rims on because the inner tire would have hit the bed. maybe that is why you only see the rounded early dual fender til 68 because the rear axles I believe are different widths hub to hub?
