Make it 40 feet WIDE and 28 DEEP. A shop that is too deep ends up with inoperative vehicles blocking those that need to be worked upon. It's easier to operate in there when they are parked side by side than end to end.
Also, most lifts are 12' tall, you need a ceiling no lower than approx. 13' to have the space for lighting, hose reels, etc.
