I recently came into possession of box of brand new key-operated ignitions switches. I knew they were Lucas (prince of darkness) but figured I always need ignition switches for old rigs, and I could sell some of them. I got to looking at them and the key is s generic stamped key, like a tractor key, so they're probably not for cars. The switches have a plate that comes with them that's marked "O" "R", "H", and "HS".

Any guesses as to what they mean? I assume it's in English being as how it's Lucas (prince of darkness). The switch will stay in the "O" or "R" position but both "H" and "HS" are spring-loaded and want to return to "R". Here's my guess. Maybe it's for a diesel (tractor?) and "O" means "Off", "R" means "Run", "H" means "Heat" (glow plugs), and "HS" means "Heat and Start" (crank while keeping the plugs glowing). What do you think? Anybody want one?
