I had a '58 ffpw with no winch but it had a pto to run a dump bed. It was a 2 sided pto so I made a driveshaft of 1 1/8" solid round stock, got a bearing block and a U joint and ran it through the front channel that was the bumper mounting the bearing on the front. Blade speed is important as the blade was hammered for 600rpm. I made a sliding driveshaft (no belt) of square tube and solid stock with the ends turned to 1 1/18" to except a u joint on each end. I also ran a cable to the throttle to increase powersince I had no governor. The 230 flathead idled at 600rpm, the blade was 40" and the mill was a belsaw 1 man mill that cut 14"x14'.
