This is not really PW related, but I'm sure some of you have boats with on board chargers. I averted a major disaster this morning. I have had my 21' Thunder Jet boat in the garage for the past couple of weeks. I plugged in the on board charger a few days ago. This is a quality unit (translate: expensive), capable of charging 3 batteries, that I bought from Cabela's. Evidently one of the branches decided to stop functioning and was sending a charge to one of the batteries to the point where the battery was really hot and a couple of wires were starting to smoke. Of course it's all insured, but what a huge loss it would have been of irreplaceable tools and equipment.
