my experience with the carter carbs on the m37s is that you can just plain wear a carb out. no matter how clean, no matter what kit you use. i guess the air and fuel and motion wear the passages and the shafts wear the bores. i had a flat spot in my m37 that was annoying and dangerous. rebuilt twice. got a nos or rebuilt, i cant remember from ab linn when he had them and bolted it on. i never turned a screw on it. ran perfect after that. i was going crazy - chasing vacuum leaks, dist weight springs, worn dist shaft bushings, etc.. carbs are wear items of extreme mystery. i do not mess with them or automatic transmissions...
