I appologize in advance for the rant but I am still steaming. Does anyone else find that aftermarket parts seem to have a ridiculusly high failure rate. I bought two aftermarket universal 3 point seatbelts for my truck and one has never really worked right and this morning I spent 30 minutes getting the belt to come out of the housing. Once out the belt will not retract. I should point out these are not cheap seatbelts these are expensive made in the usa products. This is the most recent example but I can come up with numerous examples of expensive name brand parts that have failed on me after a very short time period. It seems worse with universal type parts than direct replacement but I currently have a weeping wheel cylinder that is a replacement, the only one I have replaced. I feel like I need to create a hall of fame for parts suppliers that supply parts that work as intended and last for at least a year or two. I used to believe the little red, white and blue flag on the back of the box stood for this but I am starting to lose some of my faith.
