I had a problem a few years ago where I lost power to an outlet. I then tried other outlets and lights that didn't work, and found no tripped breakers. But when I opened the electric dryer door, its light came on, and so I set the dial and closed the door. Then lights came on all over the house. I turned the dryer off, the lights went off. On, and they came on again. Fast forward to last fall. My wife called me at work to report the same kind of problem. Remembering, I told her to turn on the dryer. The lights came on. I reported as much to the REC, and they fixed it, but how exactly did that happen?
