If you study the reason his father got booted from office..(public perception that he wasn't doing anything about the economic malaise) you will see that W learned that lesson....so he went out and appeared to do something....not saying I liked it...just saying he and his advisors remembered what the Libs did to his father in the same situation...so they removed that weapon from the Libs arsenal....saying he was a lib after 911 is simplistic, unfair, and incorrect. IMHO.
