There's no getting around handling the wheels & tires. I have found that a 3/4" pneumatic impact wrench is marginal for getting off well-tightened Budd lug nuts. The PW ones are easier than the outer duallies because the bolt is smaller. Still, if they're tight you have the friction of the not into the wheel hole. I highly doubt that any electric 1/2" impact wrench would do any good. Even the big lug-nut socket has a lot of mass and inertia that sucks up most of a small wrench's impact before it can even get to the nut.

I carry a cheap 3/4" air wrench in my M35 because the truck already has air, and even if I have to resort to hanging onto the bed side and jumping up and down on the bar to get a nut broken loose, the air wrench really speeds up removing and installing the nuts when the threads are sticky. Perhaps your electric wrench would be good for that phase of the job at least. I would get the lightest socket I could for it, too. Maybe a cheap non-impact straight 1-1/2" socket rather than the big heavy dual-purpose Proto socket like I use on the duallies. The light wrench won't break even a cheap non-impact socket. Of course you'll also need a 1/2 to 3/4 drive adapter.
