It's driven daily & drives on long roadtrips around the US. The truck has mamoth power...WAY more than I can ever imagine needing in any PW.
The thing about diesels is that cooling is everything. You need an efficient intercooler with big piping & you need a big turbo or preferably 2 of them...that means you either need a big engine compartment or a small engine to make room for it all.
Caterpiller makes great engines & it would be novel to install one in a PW but I highly doubt you could get the performance you could get out of a 4BT...& certainly not for anywhere near the same price & a 3 cylinder Detroit...cool old engine but not far ahead of the old flathead 6 :)
What's the reason why you don't like the 4BT?
