Got a nice big block in the truck now. But with all the other modification I'm doing, I figured I may as well go diesel while I'm at it. I have an early hemi, but that's not the answer for what I'm building. Viper 10 would be all wrong for a truck, and for the price I could have a very nice diesel. Navistar 7.3L is too wide, same goes for the Perkins 540 V-8. 5.9 Cummins is narrow enough, just long. Can't stand GM. I've yet to find a Deutz air-cooled diesel that fits and makes more than 100HP. Not sure if I like the Cat 3056 or the Cat C7. I love the Audi V-12 diesel, but it's made of unobtanium it seems. Shame too. It's only 26 inches long, 500HP, 730 ft.lbs, 48 valve, twin turbo, and lightweight by comparison. It would fit with room to spare. Same goes for the VW V-10 turbodiesel...rare and pricey though it would also fit right in there....
