Check out the videos and on-line guides for the 8N Ford tractor engine. The engine is not exactly the same,(Power Wagon engines don't have sleeves and are six cylinders), but close. There is a lot of information for 8N engines. It will give you an idea of what you are up against.
Seems like the "good ole boys" can put 8N's together without much problem. I had a local machine shop do the work on my 8N engine. I didn't realize there was anything special required for flat head engines as far as machining them. I had no problem getting the work done.
