I still have to buy some coffee and get the whole story from the old mechanic who rebuilt the WDX chassis using a WF or WH (1 1/2 or 2 ton 2WD cab and front sheetmetal.
There was a PW at Fairfield several years ago that had a WC ('41 - '47 2WD) cab and sheetmetal. The proportions for the PW chassis under the WF/WH sheetmetal were more aesthetically pleasing.
The bed is from a 1 1/2 ton Army cargo trailer with the front end of the bed shortened to suit the cab to axle distance. That actually is a good substitute bed.
