Your CJ-2A originally came with the flathead "L" engine. The "Hurricane" engine was introduced in 1953 in the CJ-3B model that had a higher body and hood to accommodate the taller engine. Your choices are: find the correct engine, or a V6 Buick, or small GM V8, or modify the hood.
