It depends on many things you have not mentioned. What is the condition of the frame ? Is there any rust through anywhere on the frame. Is there rust pushing the frame half's apart. What is the condition of the Engine, Tranny and T Case. Just because it starts does not mean its good.
These are some of the important questions you need to answer. You also need to factor in what GMHarris shared which is real money to get it on the road safely.
Sometimes you can get a good deal on a truck as you mention. Other times its a Money Pit.
If its a Money Pit, you would have been better off spending good money up front and bought a better truck in the beginning.
