As some of you know, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer two months ago. I have a family history of prostate cancer on my mother's side of the family, which is apparently where it is passed on. My PSA went from 1 to 5.7 over the last three years. I decided to have a radical prostatectomy (removal of the entire prostate) by open surgery by a specialist in Pittsburgh. Doctor Joel Nelson removed my prostate last Friday. He just called to tell me that my pathology report came back clear. In other words, there were no cancer cells in the margins outside the prostate and no cancer cells in the lymph nodes.
Thanks to all my Power Wagon friends for your support. I'm breathing a big sigh of relief! Hope to see you all again soon.
