When I was a high school student I was working part time building frequency modulators for the space program in a chicken coop converted to a electronics lab. This was in 1966. The owner eventually got huge and moved his operation to a more accessible location. He was just a smart, enterprising guy with an idea for a better mouse trap.
Americans are like that because we have the freedom to pick our own destiny. We will do something better than the shuttle program. It was time to streamline it any way.
