Ha! It was developed by Roger Penske. Fiat Powertrain, bought VM Motori from him. Fiat owns New Holland/Case and they have worked closely with VM and Cummins over the years to develop state of the art, efficient and durable diesels.
...and it's possible that the Fiat HQ will soon move to Auburn Hills, so is Fiat Chrysler still Italian ...or... American?... = )
