about 2 weeks back I drained the tank on my rod and filled it with new gas - after a few tries and some tinkering I got the thing running more or less , I did a partial rebuild on the carb yesterday and went tried again to fire the car up .
I got leaks ,
stuck floats
and after about the 5th time of pulling the float bal off the fuel finally came out clean and not full of that sticky brown stuff that kept appearing in the gas .
Then I looked in the tank , all that sticky brown stuff is now floating around in the tank - It is no longer attached to the sides .
So much for that short cut .
Gotta pull the tank .
and rebuild the carb .
