ot winch question (jeep)

i have a winch that came from a jeep. i say that because it says -jeep remsey-it is a rugged little winch. looks like some of it is aluminum. my question is what it would be worth. it looks 1950-1960 era. i guess i could look for a tag. a guy in town wants to barter with me on it. i just wanted to get a ball park price. i think it is a 8000 lb winch. is it $200- $500, it looks original to a army jeep. any help would be good
