Good point. For the investment return you need to live on the equator or mighty close. My neighbor is putting up a large solar array here in northern Idaho and he is 75 years old. I would call him the ultimate optimist. He won't give me the cost outlay probably for good reason and when asked about wholesale purchase of power vs retail billing he will change the subject.
I think there is a lot of social PC credit given in some circles like driving a Prius.
