Greetings, I replaced my canister filter setup with a new mount for spin on filters. The first filter began to pass oil past the seal and after while was making a heck of a mess with oil running down the sides of the filter and dripping all over the floor and losing oil a a pretty good pace. I thought maybe the filter was defective so replaced it. Eventually the same thing happened. The mount is billet alluminum and looks clean and smooth. The filter is NAPA Gold so should be of good quality. I show about 60 lbs of pressure on start and 42 psi when hot.

Any ideas why a what looks to be a real nice set up should be doing this? The filter is remote from the block like the original so I would not think I am getting a warp due to heat. Do the seals just not do well on aluminum?

Anybody have a spin on system that has worked well?
