mike is correct about the gearing. i have regeared two trucks. my opinion is to install larger 10.50 or 1100 x 16 tires on the stock rims. you will get approx the same 20% speed increase as 489s without touching the gears. you get improved tires in the deal. 430s are too low for the stock 230 unless you want to shift a lot. hopped up engine or diesel 489s are the way to go. by the way, the 430s you will likely find are the smaller dimension and are more prone to breakage than the 9 5/8 units. worth considering.
