... you ought to just give that old mechanical fuel pump a well-deserved rest. Just take it off, and set it on your bench and let it rest. Meanwhile put a nice electric pump back by the fuel tank... just while you rebuild the mechanical one, you understand.. I mean you gotta find the kit, then order the kit, then ship the kit, then receive the kit, then have it sit around while you study the instructions... maybe a year or two... meanwhile the truck runs perfectly on the electric. Then you change back one you are ready to deal with failures like this again.
Just don't buy one of those "new" pumps and expect it to work very long, because it won't.
