I've gotten most rebuild kits from Then & Now Automotive, 781-335-8860. Not cheap, but cheaper than a new pump, and you get to keep your old, better-made, rebuildable unit. What new ones you can get these days are thin pot metal crimped together.

I'm still toying with the idea of an electric in series with the mechanical -- if either one fails, the other can pump through it. The catch is on the mechanical ones, half the time the diaphragm cracks and the gas runs into the crank case, which would happen even if I had an electric pump pumping through unless I had valves to isolate the two, and then it gets real complicated. More practical would probably be to carry a suitable bit of plumbing to jerry-rig a gravity feed from a jerry can mounted on the M37's standard Jerry can bracket right to the carburetor inlet. If the can was more than half full, I think there'd be enough pressure. Another option is just something I could strap on the roof. I used to know of a W300 being used as a work truck with a gin pole that had a gas tank on the roof as its regular fuel supply. I guess that solves all fuel pump problems. That truck also had the right front wheel mounted backwards so it stuck way out, like an outer dually without the inner. I never could figure the point of that unless he was doing a lot of reaching over over to the right to pick stuff up and needed more stability.
